The Czech development Agency (CzDA) was established by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs in January 2008. It has taken over  previous activities of the Czech Development Center. CzDA cooperates with the MFA on the establishment of an institutional framework of the Czech development cooperation, and actively participates in the creation of development cooperation programs between the Czech Republic and priority countries, as well as on the other stages of the project cycle management.

The Agency is responsible for supporting implementation of the Czech development cooperation. It is mainly responsible for:

• Identification of project ideas in priority countries
• Formulation of projects and contractual documents
• Administrative support for grants of the MFA
• Tendering procedures
• Contracting with suppliers of goods, services and works
• Providing information about Czech development cooperation
• Supporting Czech stakeholders aiming to take part in development cooperation of other donors esp. European Commission
• Enhancing capacities of the NGO’s and other ODA stakeholders, including organizing professional trainings
• Generates data for reporting on Czech ODA
